Mine mounts with only an inch or so of clearance and I have it mounted flat with no tilt. I just tried to wiggle it and there is no downward tilt.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.That's correct. You put the mount on the wall and there's a separate piece that goes on the back of the tv. It's basically a bar that can go against the back of the tv or you can extend it out. The bar fits in a slot on the mount. Once mounted you can pull the tv downward or push it back against the wall which makes the tv straight and flush against the wall.
