I find the Nokia answer insufficient. The real question is not whether we can “activate later”, but can we activate later WITH THE CARRIER WE CHOOSE, since the phone is “unlocked”. Furthermore I say it’s a LIE by Nokia and/or Best Buy to advertise the home as “unlocked” when people have to pay $50 extra for that privilege. If you pay $29, the phone is NOT unlocked, but must be activated immediately with a particular carrier. That is NOT unlocked, and I don’t like LIARS. There’s a difference between lying, and honest marketing. “Answer may take up to 72 hours to appear” bc Nokia needs time to censor/delete anything that is critical of them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi there, The price is higher without activation because activating with a particular carrier has an incentive from them. Thank you for your question!
