The rw200 (and other nordictrack rw### models) uses air and a magnet for you to set the resistence . Unfortunately, several (all?) have a design flaw that makes the magnet come into contact with the housing of the wheel. The noise is very annoying (you tube link I found: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nWQr60dHuc&feature=emb_logo). Other than that, the rw200 makes a pretty standard noise for its type.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Have had mine for a few months now. Love it and i would consider it very quiet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unfortunately, it is much noisier than I expected. I brought this rower for my husband for a Christmas present because I knew how much he loves rowing machines (use to use it at our local gym). My husband also thinks it’s noisy. We live in an apartment on the second floor. Also, one of the reasons I purchased this rowing machine was because they claimed it was quiet . My husband loved using the Concept 2 rower at the gym. We are seriously thinking of returning this rowing machine back to Best Buy before the 30 days is up.
