• I use kernel seasons popping oil. You can find it cheap at walmart. You should be able to pop it dry if you want to. I know you can air pop popcorn in a pot on the stove.

• Yes it does, it is not an air popper. I'd rather use butter instead of oil for popping makes it taste better.
