Nvidia recommends at least 650W. See the SPECS section at https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/graphics-cards/rtx-2080/
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.DEFINITELY NEED MORE POWER!!!! The RTX 2080 takes 275 watts just for its own supply. If you connect it to your existing rig with the 500 watt power supply it probably won't have enough power to boot and if it does, it will crash when you start your first game. What is in the rest of your computer (MOB, RAM, SSD, Etc....)? I would recommend at the very least getting a 800 watt PS or even a 1,000 watt. You don't want to tax your power supply for longevity purposes. I would go out and buy a 1,000 watt PS and you should be set! Power supplies are only good for about 3-4 years and it is good to replace them before they go out on you! Good luck!!!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I can't see 500 watts being enough. Maybe if you have a efficient CPU, but I'm running a 4th gen i7 and my 850 watt barely sufficed. I recently upgraded to 1200 watts. I would recommend a 1000 watt or better.
