With no location services enabled, shield itself only knows which region it was sold in (US bs EU). After that, each app itself has ts own means of figuring where the requests are coming from.

You can over-ride location with VPN, no problem. You can download NUMEROUS VPN apps from the Google Play Store App on the Shield TV. I use CyberGhost VPN, which works great. You can do a quick Google search using "VPN Apps on Android TV (which the shield is). It will show you all the VPN apps available to use on the device. Then go to the Play Store App once you purchase and download your favorite. This thing is AMAZING. This is must have if you have a 4k TV and a Dolby Atmos sound system, or not. The 4K Upscaling is BEAUTIFUL!
