Yes, you’ll need to have a Facebook account to log in to the device.

You must have an account to use it. the Facebook account can be private without any content. In regards the item, I'm not very happy, keep unplugging and plug in back to work. It feels like the software it's no been developed right. A lot work to make it work. I would probably look for an alternative to oculus.
