“Does the charging case have to be plugged in for it to charge earphones? Or, can you unplug a fully charged charging case and take it with you and charge earphones wirelessly, if you needed?”

There are 2 cases available. The standard case has no battery and must be plugged in to charge. There is an optional case that includes a battery and will charge the earbuds until that battery is exhausted. I get several days of use from my charged case. I use the earbuds several hours a day.
