If the question is about the range of the recorder, I've had the recorder roughly 8' from someone speaking at a large conference table and speaking at a conversational level and had a good clear recording.

Typically, if you can here it it can capture it in the recording. One thing to be aware of, this is a stand alone device and does not offer downloading of the recordings. If you are in need of a recorder that will capture the highest quality and offer computer connectivity, I suggest the LS Series recorders, like the LS-7 or LS-11.
