• The Omron 10 that I bought had 4 AA batteries and an electrical cord included, so yes you could take your pressure somewhere where there wasn't electricity.

• No, it comes with everything you need, even some batteries if you don't have an outlet in a convenient location where you are placing the unit. I would highly recommend downloading thier app as well so you can share your results with your doctor.
