You can use it out of the box.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It works out of the box, although connecting it to an app on your phone provides additional tracking capabilities. However, I found that this unit was not providing accurate readings. The wrist monitors are simply not as good at reading your blood pressure. I ended up getting one for the upper arm and it seems much more accurate and consistent. I do think the Omron monitors are good products and stayed with the brand. It is just a limitation of measuring blood pressure on the wrist instead of the upper arm.

Please try again later.You should always be able to use the monitor without connecting to an app. Connecting to an app will simply allow you to store historical data for a long time. Omron does provide good analysis of data over time. So, perhaps for the first 2 days you do not use the app, but then, you should..
