Yes, it is a 1 for 1 replacement.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you get the 3rd generation you must be hardwired already or you will need to hire an electrician.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am unaware of how Geek Squad actually installs doorbells or which options of doorbells your purchasing, but if you're referring to probably the most common Ring Doorbell, it does not need or require an existing doorbell to be installed. It can run on either batter power or between 8-24 VAC (a simple voltage transformer converts from 110 VAC wall outlet voltage to 24 VAC or low voltage if you have a near by outlet of your door). A Ring Chime can also be purchased separately and works independently with the Ring and plugs into any outlet in your home as long as you have wifi which the Ring needs to operate anyway. If you prefer not to purchase the Ring chime you can have your phone notify you if you have the Ring app installed which will allow you to talk through the Ring Doorbell. Replacing batteries is fairly easy and they last for a long time if you use decent brand batteries. I have the Ring Doorbell (hardwired) and 2 Ring stick up cams (solar powered) and I am very impressed.. go get a Ring. Hope this helps ;-)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. You must have a low-voltage wiring system in place already.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You MUST have a wired doorbell that is in good working order and a mechanical OR digital, wired chime as well. If not, your electrician can pre-wire for installation OR install the whole thing for you.
