• You should be able to program the receiver to your cable/sat receiver remote via the aux button or if you have the money I would get a Harmony remote to control everything.

• I haven't found a way to do that yet. Nor have I found a way to control the TV using the Onkyo remote.

• It depends on the remote. I was able to program my Xfinity remote to control the volume of the receiver. However, I use a universal remote so that I can control all of my devices with one remote.

• If you get a Logitech harmony remote control you can program it to turn on everything with a touch of a button and use it for the volume control
