No, the speakers can be connect to any manufacturer's receiver. However, the receiver must be Dolby Atmos-enabled in order to utilize that function.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. You can use any Dolby Atmos enabled receiver you would like, just make sure the receiver has enough channels to run the speakers for what they are designed for. I am running a 5.1.2 set up with my Sony receiver. The first number (5) is how many standard surround sound speakers you have (front left, front right, center, rear right surround, and rear left surround). The second number (1) is for how many subwoofers you are running. The third number (2) stands for your "height" speakers, such as speakers in ceiling, or like the Onkyo speakers you are looking at that are designed to sit on top of your front left and front right speakers and fire towards the ceiling, or wall mounted above your front left and right speakers. Hope this helps.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They are rated at 6 ohm and can be connected to any receiver capable of handling that resistance. Also be sure to check the power rating of the channel against the speaker.
