The receiver will send whichever sound (and image) files the streaming platform has posted as quickly and cleanly as your internet will allow. Internet lag will effect sound just like image. Streaming media is a great convenience, but for optimal sound and image quality you want a hard copy or completely downloaded digital file. Streaming services often don't post the optimal surround sound files with their programming.
