can i run a 5.1 system on this? null

Yes you set up with just about any speaker system. up to 9.2. Two sub output are on it also.

There is multiple options for turning on and off speakers and what crossover points to put them on... yes you can do 5.1 or even 5.0 like I am currently running (aka no subwoofers . I have cerwin vegas so I'm good there) eventually I'll have the extra 4 speakers in place.
