Hello FE, You can do either speaker terminals for the Zone B or you have the option of connecting a separate amp to power the zone B speakers. When you use the terminals on the receiver you are then reducing the main configuration from 5.1 to a 3.1. But if you were to get a separate amp to power the zone separately the main room can stay as a 5.1 setup. Thank you Onkyo
