You contact ooma to have her old phone number ported over(the instructions will walk you through how to do this). The ooma hardware has a phone jack in it to plug in her old cordless phone

Please try again later.Yes, you can port over the old number, but first you will have to select a new number from the ones that they have available in the area code, but then tell the promptwhile setting this up you want to port the current number from the home phone. It has a great setup app. Also, boight another ooma for my elderly parents and a big button phone.
