You get to port your number in for free when you first start the service but you have to call the customer service first. If you want to port in your current number you cannot do it on the setup app that they tell you to use. If you don’t care about porting then you can set up the service through the Ooma Telo app from any App Store. When you do it that way the app gets you to enter in your area code and you get to pick a phone number that you like from a list. As for the second line, if you pay for the $9.99 Ooma Premier service you get a second phone number included for free along with caller ID, telemarketer blocking, call forwarding, 3 way calling and other features. For me, with the Ooma premier service and all the taxes and fees my phone bill is only $16 a month. Without the Premier Service it was a little over $5 but you don’t get names or the caller ID and the other features if you just have basic service so for me it was well worth the extra $9.99. Additionally, with the Ooma Telo Air you can use it with the Ooma Security system. It can be controlled or make calls with Amazon Alexa as well. To add functionality you can purchase a 4G cellular adaptor that will let you connect the Ooma Telo to 4G cell towers in the event of power failure at home. The adaptor has a battery in it so you can use the battery as a power backup for your home phone service. For the cell service feature there is an $11 service charge I believe. I hope this helps.
