You do need internet. Its Voip. You have to find out how much your monthly taxes will be from theie website. I pay in NYC 5.63 monthly. I ported my number from my cable provider to still use it for my home phone and fax. They try to sell you additional services you dont need. If you do get it put the number on the government do not call list. I hope this answers your question.
