  • QuestionI have cable internet phone and tv how do I connect ooma and get rid of my current phone service

    Asked by jbp111.

    • Answer You need some form of broad band internet like cable or fiber optic such as Comcast or Verizon Fios but you do not need cable tv. I reduced my my Verizon Fios package from having tv, phone and internet to just internet and saved about $100 a month. If you want to keep you phone number don’t cancel anything until you set up Ooma then begin to port your phone number over to Ooma. It is also a good idea to ask your provider if the number can be transferred over to another company.

  • QuestionCan I connect Ooma to my central alarm monitoring ?

    Asked by Sparrow.

    • Answer You could, Ooma does have for a fee a cellular back up system, which I would recommend in the event the internet goes down your system is still being monitored. FYI I never used it before but Ooma does have their own home security as well

  • QuestionCan i use an internet hot spot and use it wireless without a modem hookup

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hello, Thank you for your inquiry. This particular Ooma base model does not have wireless capabilities. Please see the link below for our wireless model. However, please note a mobile hotspot may not be ideal for call quality. The Ooma Telo does require 1 dedicated Mbps in order for the service to work optimally. • QuestionCan it be used with printer?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Your printer is either hard wired to your computer, or it's wireless. But the ooma doesn't have anything to do with the printer. Now to us it with a fax machine, you would need a splitter coming from your ooma. One for your phone and one to your fax.
