“This says it's an evaporative humidifier & cool most humidifier. I thought evaporative humidifiers don't mist at all, cold or warm. I'm buying to eliminate the fine white dust. Does this unit leave ANY dust or residue? Does it leave nearby items damp? Thx”

• I don’t own this but am actively shopping around. I read that ultrasonic humidifiers leave the white residue.

• The filter gets full with water and causes the humidifier to leak water on the floor.
