- Answer The receiver is all that comes with the best buy purchase. You have to go to the Orby TV website to schedule and pay for installation. But a one room install only costs $25. That 25 dollars covers the install, dish, outdoor tv antenna, and wiring. So your total out of pocket for a complete one room satellite tv system installed is $125.

QuestionBought one from best buy in April finally got installed 5 stars to mastech but not orby.. useless receiver because the Sim number and receiver is different, put wrong receiver in the wrong box... what do I do with this worthless receiver and box.

- Answer Probably not. But the Orby TV dish is only $25 and that includes installation. They bring the dish and hook it up for you.

- Answer Orby TV sells a plain receiver and a DVR. You can buy either one. The Orby DVR is exactly like the Orby receiver only you can record. 500 GB.

- Answer You must set up the dish at each stop that you want to watch TV. This is NOT trivial as it requires pointing the dish at something the size of a bus that is located 22,000 miles away. It can certainly be done but you have to know what you're doing and must be careful about where you place the dish. Camping areas with lots of trees can be problematic as there can be nothing but air between the dish and the satellite.

- Answer The Orby TV website has a list of all the channels. If you are already getting ME Tv on an antenna you'll get it with the Orby TV system as well.

- Answer You do not. It has both an HDMI and RCA video output. As long as the tv has one of those connections you are good to go.

- Answer Right now it is free. But there is a promotion going on until Sunday (Aug 2). After that install will cost $25 for one room. Still a pretty good deal. They bring the dish and wiring and TV antenna and hook it all up for you.

- Answer You are charged when your installation is successful. If they can’t obtain line of sight to the satellite for reception they won’t attempt an installation.

QuestionJust had my orby installed. I am already disappointed. Apparently, you can not record a series on the DVR. That makes it absolutely useless. Are there any plans to update this service? If so, How long? Or should I look to a different system? Steve

- Answer Correct our current DVR software does not allow for series recording, but the engineers have been building that feature. We expect to launch it soon. You won’t have to do anything to receive the update as it will come automatically during an overnight software update.

QuestionCan you put orbytv on a RV?

- Answer Yes but you will need to be stationary. At this point in time you will need to set up a tripod, pole & concrete in a bucket, cinderblocks mount or other surface mount for your dish and then peak your dish to 117 West. My first basic installation took me about an hour. Now it takes me about 5 minutes when I have basic tools handy.

- Answer There is one HDMI out cable and, one set of RCA plugs out to the TV. RCA jacks two are for left & right audio & one video jack to the TV .

- Answer It is like Directv in that the pay channels come through a satellite dish. Orby TV is a no contract service though, so that's different because you pay for the equipment and install up front. As for the antenna, when you buy the install package the installer doesn't just bring a satellite dish, they also bring an outdoor TV antenna and attach it to the dish. The antenna signals and satellite dish signals are combined and sent through one cable to the set top box. They do this so that you don't have to pay for local channels and you get them even if you don't pay for the Orby packages.
