• The commuter is a lighter version of the commuter, the defender is a little thicker but gives you more drop/fall protection and I believe it's more water resistant as well.

• The defender is the only one that has a built in screen protector and comes with a holster to carry it in. The others come with a stick on screen protector that sucks.
