I did not need to do anything with my cabinet. I purchased the low-profile microwave that fits within the space of the old vent hood. Technicians removed the hood and installed the microwave in its place.

As long as you measure and make sure ur unit will fot theres no need to remove anything, i had an over range fan light and selected remove qnd haul away old unit as an option.

The microwave is supported by a mounting plate, bolted to the wall, and also is bolted to the bottom of the cabinet above the range. You will need to empty the cabinet above the range before installation.

IF YOU ARE REPLACING THE SAME SIZE MICRO, YOU WONT HAVE TO REMOVE THE CABINET
