Yes! I had my car broken into and that's how I came across this dash cam. Traditional dash cams have a lot of flaws: mainly they only have a single, forward-facing camera. It can see 180-degrees forward, but if someone breaks into your front or back door windows, it's often out of view of most dash cams (from experience). Additionally, this dash cam runs off your ODB port, so its constantly powered even when your vehicle is not running. Once again, most dash cams use USB which is a flaw because you have to go buy a massive mophie-type battery to power them if you want them to record when your car is parked and that in itself may make you a target to a break-in if someone noticed the battery pack (not to mention I always have fears being in a state that easily has temps over 100 degrees in the summer about batteries expanding or exploding due to excess heat). Lastly, the LTE allows for cloud storage for video events so if someone were to notice your dash cam and steal it they would be extremely upset to find there's no SD card to destroy and they're most likely busted.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I got a 450.00 ticket for something I didn't do... From that day forward I never drove without a dashcam. Peace of mind is priceless
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the owlcam dash cam is amazing but if you don't need it, you are lucky, although I would not benefit from it as I do go with the flow in traffic, if I were to crash it would show everything, speeding, and hard braking, all that stuff. but if you never look at your phone or sight seeing or eating or drinking (soda or coffee) that is considered distracted driving and may cause more problems than it solves. all depends on your driving, it is a see all device. but it is very good to have if you get hit or broken into. I personally like these type devices. they have other dashcams that are good at lower price but don't have 4g lte capability ( have memory card that it records to, and playback ability a lot less money if you don't need that RIGHT NOW VIEWING.

Like this crazy squirrel who was on the side of the road, suddenly darting into traffic right in front of me. The humanity. Also transients who have pulled on the car door handles looking for a place to sleep to escape the cold night air.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In Tulsa, Oklahoma there was a news story where a resident had one in his car. His car got broken into and got perfect video of the suspects. The camera scared away the suspects and the victim did not have anything stolen from the car as a result. Im looking into it for my car.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am looking at several sites for this camera simply because I have the Neighbors app. Someone posted a video of a guy breaking into their car, rampaging through it stealing things and even looked at the camera not phased at all. Whether he noticed it was a camera or not, we had no idea. The picture quality was so perfect and I cannot stress on the perfect part and it was at 2am when it triggered activity and turned on to record. The original poster stated that they never had anyone break into their car or home but, thought it was best to invest in one of these due to the spike in car thefts and stealing of cars in our county. It’s best to get something like this just in case as opposed something like that happening to you and than you are looking for a camera like this after the fact. It does not hurt to be prepared for situations that may wholeheartedly depend on this camera.
