I am not an expert, but my understanding is the harnesses connect the receiver to your factory installation of speakers, phone, etc. You can wire them manually or use the harnesses. Probably, a good investment for the harnesses.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.As the description implies: its an interface so you can use steering wheel controls, OnStar, and have a bose system amplified or not. If you dont have any of these then dont buy it as you just need a stereo wiring harness only. And it will cost you alot less just for the wiring harness then to get this interface

Please try again later.Do i really need this on a 2003 chevy impala if I buy a wiring harness and a dash kit can't I just wire the harness to the new radio harness and plug it in like I have done in the past I have no onstar or steering wheel controls just the normal stereo do I really need a 129.00 interface?
