• A:Answer Well, you probably don't if you're putting in a $100 radio. This retains all factory controls on the steering wheel and other interfaces. I only bought it because I had to for the free installation. They will only use Best Buy stock for their installations. If you have to buy it, price match it. I did, at the time Crutchfield was $30+ less. But if you are planning to install yourself there are equally capable interface cables for less than half that amout.

• A:Answer The interface is required to provide accessory power for the aftermarket radio, which is not in the factory harness. It is also required to maintain the integrity of the Class2 data bus in the truck, which it also gets its signal to provide the accessory power for the aftermarket radio, even in vehicles without OnStar or steering wheel controls

• A:Answer That will not work in your Cadillac, for that vehicle, you will need the OS2-GM32X and to retain steering wheel controls you will also need the SWI-CP2
