QuestionIs this really necessary? I have a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am GT. There are no steering wheel controls, no BOSE radio, no back up camera. Do I REALLY need this? I am doing the new install myself. This item costs twice as much as the new radio

- Answer No!, you don’t. It’s just a newer one with all that you would to install. If you have Bose and OnStar, I believe there is one that is much less from the same company. P.s. in my Best Buy when I purchase it on line and did a store pick up there was 2 items missing. It turned out that the kit doesn’t include the attenna adapter, when in fact that they show you a complete package and you don’t even get, it’s an extra 13.99 for the adapter. Can you say double dipping.

QuestionIs it really needed on my 2012 Chevy Colorado WORK truck? My truck doesn't have Bose speakers or steering wheel controls. It seems nuts to buy an $80 radio and have a $226 grandtotal cost.

- Answer My Suburban had Bose and steering wheel controls. My installer told me I had the right and therefore more expensive harness so all that worked easily. So am GUESSING there is another, less expensive one, available. Can you go to the store and talk to an installer? Good luck
