Hi Pat, Your description sounds more like a loose connection on whatever channel is making the static noise. Could be in the speaker itself, speaker cable, amp connector or audio cable etc... If you don't have a good surge protector with filtering, I would recommend you get one. I just don't think it would solve the issue you have if it is only coming from one speaker.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This unit will not fix that but it will help protect against future damage from Electrical Surges. That sounds like a damaged speaker/ tweeter. Connect it it to a different Receiver and if static continues, then the speaker is probably damaged.
