“For some reason... the wiring light is red. I figured out that if I plug my computers power supply into it, and switch the power supply off... it turns blue. If I switch the supply on or unplug it.. back to red.. anyone have a clue what may be happening?”

The wiring light is telling you that something is wrong (e.g., a wiring problem exists, such as bad ground, missing ground or reversed wiring) with the outlet you are plugging the UPS into. If you're renting, the landlord should immediately contact an electrician to check the outlet; otherwise have a friend with an outlet checker -- they're a few bucks at Lowes / Home Depot / et al -- check the outlet. It could be something as simple as mis-connected wires somewhere in the electrical system ... to a defective outlet. I would suggest you avoid using that outlet until it is checked.
