Does this model su686s have inverter technology? null

The inverter technology will be mentioned in the specs if the item have it, it will be mentioned as "Smart inverter technology" or "Auto Defrost". As this have noramal Defrost and no smart inverter, it don't have the technology in it.

How should I answer such a question? do not believe there was any mention of such a thing in the manual that came with it. As far as the machine goes, the interior light does not come on when the door is opened -- only when it begins to operate. the "Touch" screen require a healthy knuckle to make an impression. Actually would have preferred a GE model but it was not available in less than 11 days from Walmart, Best Buy had this one for the next morning, and time was a serious consideration.
