Hi there! You can play DVD's meant for Region 1 in the following formats: DVD Video, DVD-R, DVD-R DL, DVD-RW, +RW, +R, +R DL, CD-Audio, CD-R, CD-RW, USB. We recommend either using the Audio/Video cable included with the unit or a HDMI cable for your TV connection. We hope this helps! - F
