“Registering 6th phone on Panasonic KX-TGA1031S I have a Panasonic Model KX-TG1031S phone system, capable of supporting 6 handsets. It originally came with 3 handsets. I lost one handset several years ago and replaced it. When I registered that handset to the base it assigned it number 4. Now I have purchased 3 additional handsets. The first two registered to my base just fine, but the last will not, presumably because the base thinks I already have six handsets. I need to set the new handset to slot #3, but cannot deregister #3, as I don't have it. (My current handsets are numbers 1,2,4,5, and 6.) I read some instructions suggesting I need to deregister all the handsets, then register them again, but it said I would lose my phonebook and prior calls and I was hesitant to do that (also I worried that I would screw up the whole system). Is there an alternative solution? If not, how do I deregister/register the phones. Do the batteries need to be removed? Do the chargers and base need to be unpluged?”
