Each handset has the ability to be totally silent when calls are received (you can set start and stop time). If not silent, you can hear rings and also listen to each message being left by a caller like you hear at the base. If silent, and you know a message is being left at the base (the silent handset will say this on the display), you can click speakerphone or call, and then listen in. You can also use the hand set to listen to previously recorded voicemail left. The handsets really have all functionality of the base, or you can make it silent. To hear a message as it is being left by the caller, you have to turn on call screening.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We don’t use the voicemail feature with this phone. We are just using the answering machine. My husband can never remember the code for the voicemail!!
