A: I have the same problem and just found the answer; it was from a "Panasonic Help" video on the internet. IT IS NOT A PHONE COMPANY PROBLEM! The fix: hold the # button until you hear a couple of beeps. Simple, but it works.
A: Yes on both points. It will announce the name of the person calling as long as a name pops up and is available. And the volume is adjustable and can be set loud enough.
Q: What is the range from one phone to the base?
A: The base is in the basement and there is one phone in the bedroom two floors up that functions perfectly.
Q: What does the call block button do. Does this prevent you from getting all these bad calls.
A: Yes. Once use push it and verify that you want the call blocked all you will hear in the future from that number is one ring and the message on the screen will tell you that it is from a blocked number.
A: Yes it does. My old system didn't do that and it might be days before I noticed that I had a message -- not so anymore -- one of the things I loe about this system!
