The base unit is wall mountable. My set was a replacement for one that suffered from a 21-month old's "loving" and it fit right onto my metal base from previous wall mounting. The phone does stand a bit more upright than my previous one, so take care when returning the handset to the base. The other two extension sets are intended to be set on a table, bureau, etc.
