The KX-TGF975S phone system is a cordless phone system where only the main base unit needs to be connected via a wire to the landline, the rest of the satellite phones being cordless (5 in total)! The KX-TGF975S also has the Link To Cell feature which allows you to pick up cellular calls using our phone system as well! We hope this information is helpful! - F
