• No, you would dial the provider's code. E.g., dial *123. You could also setup a speed dial for it.

This model does not have an indicator on the handset, however a notification will be displayed on the screen as following: For voicemail messages (via phone company) : "voicemail msg. via phone company" For answering machine messages: "New message, press PLAY" Additionally, an indicator will blink on the base unit only for answering machine messages.
