I don't know why all these phones have answering machines in this day and age but HOW DO YOU USE VOICEMAIL ON A PHONE WITH AN ANSWERING MACHINE IF YOU CAN'T WHY ARE THERE NO PHONES WITH VOICEMAIL INSTEAD OF AN ANSWERING MACHINE? null

Voicemail is through the phone company. The answering machine can be turned off if you have voice mail. Some people don't have voicemail so need an answering machine.

Hello. The phone has a built-in answering system that can answer and record calls for you when you are unavailable to answer. The feature can be turned off using the Answer ON/OFF button located on the base unit. The phone is compatible with the Voicemail service which requires a subscription with your telephone service provider to work. For additional instructions on how to use the Voicemail service, we encourage you to contact your telephone service provider. -G
