• Yes, this battery charger plugs into a standard US wall AC outlet. I don't think a DC outlet would work unless you've got an inverter.

• It is an AC only power adapter with fold out plug. There is no provision for connecting a DC power cord Such as if you were attempting to use it with power provided by your cigarette lighter or secondary power plug in your car.
