Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I get great reception in my house, which is wood frame. I don't know about the basement, though. One thing that could be better is for the radio to have stereo for the ear phones, instead of sound from just one speaker. Overall I am very happy with this radio. I will add that I have another brand of radio of similar design that gets poor reception. Also I mostly keep it on AM stations, and use the wall plug-in and not batteries.
