“My Mitsubishi 3D TV requires an emitter and Active 3D glasses. Does any of this change with a Blueray 3D player? Do I still need the emitter, or just the active glasses?”

3D videos and 3D still pictures can be played back when this unit is connected to a 3D compatible TV using a High Speed HDMI Cable.
