No, this unit does not have a rechargeable battery.

Please try again later.Hi Rookie, This dashcam does not have a rechargeable battery meant for standalone capabilities and does have to be plugged into a power source at all times you'd like to use the dashcam. If you'd like to take advantage of the surveillance features of the dashcam you'll need to either hardwire the dashcam using a hardwire kit (Papago! Hardwire Kit UDC-US) or use a power bank to power the device while you're away from your vehicle. (I'd recommend a power bank with at least 20,000mAh or more).
