USB is very small, might be attached to the inside of the keyboard where you would put the batteries. If it is not there, then you would either need to buy a replacement mouse and keyboard combo (can be fairly cheap) or you can exchange or return, as there is no way for the mouse and keyboard to communicate without the usb. Hope that helps!

If that is a missing part of your computer sale, you should take it to the repair section and complain that it is missing. It is an essential component of the keyboard mouse receiver(USB) trio. When I bought my all in one, my keyboard had a bad spacebar because it was the display model. I contacted HP directly and they Mailed me a NEW keyboard mouse and USB plug combo for free. All New because is was under factory warrantee. When I look under the battery cover of the key board there is a different CT number on the two keyboards and the USB doesn't work on both boards. Each has a specific frequency and I think the CT number might have something to do with the frequency identifier. I was able to have my problem resolved from HP directly. Maybe HP will just mail out a USB if that is all they need to know.
