• Yes, if you are using the YouTube TV app on your Xbox. Definitely a battery saver compared to the regular controller.

• The remote is mainly designed to control OneGuide, and through it the TV and audio receiver (using the Kinect IR blaster.

• On the xbox one yes, you can use it just like any other xbox controller. It is mainly used for media, like netflix, youtube,etc.

• I don't have YouTube TV, but it works fine with standard YouTube and every other video streaming app I use (Netflix, Hulu, HBO Go, Starz). I don't see why it wouldn't work with YouTube TV as well.
