Customers are saying

Customers love the Talon Media Remote for Xbox One's ease of use, backlight, and overall design. Many appreciate its compatibility with various devices and the comfortable feel and size. While some users noted that the button quality could be improved and the range is limited to line of sight, the positive feedback on ease of use and features outweighs these concerns. The remote's price point is also frequently praised.

Great Xbox one light up remote!

I wanted to get a separate remote for my Xbox one s rather than using the controller which is bulky and heavy. I really like this remote that lights up when moved, it has a cool velvet rubberized feeling to it. It's great for movie watching and using apps like Spotify. The remote does get dirty easily and I wished the center ring button was raised a little more as it is a little awkward to push. It is the best $20.00 Xbox one remote licensed by Microsoft you can get. Included 2 AA batteries. The back cover is a little hard to open.

This Remote is wonderful if you use your Xbox one regularly like I do! Not only does it save the batteries of my wireless remotes but it makes a few Action’s much easier to access and use. Beyond that, this Remote has a truly great feel to it as well. Very solid build quality and a great price to boot!

I wanted this so I didn’t have to power up my controller to control media while watching movies. It works great for that. It has a pleasant texture to hold and lights up the buttons if there is motion anywhere near it. Great functionality for the price.

It is so nice to have a remote to control the Xbox One instead of a controller when watching a movie. The added lights to the buttons are wonderful for low light rooms or dark rooms. I do wish the lights would stay on just a little longer then they do. I would rather have to recharge the batteries, that I put in it, more often if the light stayed on for just another second or two. That is my only complaint about the remote. Other than that I love the remote. Its build quality is pretty decent and I think it will hold up for a long time. I definitely recommend this remote, especially if you are still using a controller to control Netflix or Hulu or one of the other movie streamers.

Bought this Intentionally. I’ve grown tired of having to re-charge my Two main controllers when I wasn’t gaming because I wanted to watch Netflix. Sooo Much Better.

If you use the XBOX One for watching movies and TV shows on disc like I do than the PDP Talon remote works better and is easier to use than the XBOX One controller. It is bigger than the similar XBOX One remote but more versatile and less expensive. It takes a while to get used to the small buttons and I wish the PDP Talon would light up a bit longer in the dark but otherwise I am very happy with it. I always had difficulty navigating disc menus with the XBOX One controller since I do not use it for gaming that much. The PDP Talon remote is designed for those who prefer a traditional remote for their player and it does the job!

Much MUCH cheaper than Microsofts version. A bit larger which is actually a good thing for this house. And useful. Play pause rewind buttons that you know and love. No figuring out x b left rt trigger. (Ah! I'm triggered!) We bought the OneS for its 4k disc ability. No matter what the kid might think. This remote saved the day. My wife will never hold a controller to watch a movie. Just not gonna happen. I saw this at wallyworld for almost 50! Not joking. Ridiculous. Got it on sale which i understand haopens often for under 20. And it works. Its feels good in the hand. End of the day. If you or someone else watching a movie on YOUR xbox is: unable unwilling incapable or just doesnt feel like using the controller as a remote. This rocks.

I got sick of accidentally changing channels by absentmindedly tapping the sticks, or having the controller drop and roll onto them. So I looked into a media remote. Although this lacks some of the features of previous models, like light-up buttons, it does the job very well. However, there are several buttons that have no obvious purpose, and the user manual, such as it is, does not do a good job of explaining he buttons that do work, much less these extras. It does lack a CC or subtitles button, and also lacks a dvd/Blu-ray eject button, which would be nice, but it’s not a deal breaker. I use this daily, very happily, if one does come along with those buttons I miss, I might upgrade. But this will do for now.

The remote feels nice in the hand it is a soft rubber feel. It is a nice size and not too small as the Xbox branded remote seems to be. The best part is the back lighting that comes on just be moving the device. I had no issues pairing the device as it worked immediately out of the box. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a media remote for their Xbox one, save the money and buy this instead of the microsoft model.

We use our XBox One to stream media (Spectrum, Netflix, Hulu, YouTube) and this is a great remote to use instead of having to constantly wake up one of our controllers when we want to change channels or pick something else to watch, etc. It is nice and slim, fits well in the hand, and very lightweight. The buttons are easy to use and we quickly adapted to the layout so we don’t even have to look at the remote anymore when we’re pressing the buttons. And it’s nice not to drain our controllers’ batteries anymore, too.

I enjoy the size and f I l of this tv controller. My husband and I had the smaller Xbox brand on and it died on us within about two years. I like that it is larger and is less likely to be lost. And the price in comparison to the smaller one is great! Overall good product, just learning the controls

I was surprised with the quality and design of this item. It looks and feels better than every remote I have in my household. Works perfectly with the xbox1 and has almost ever function you would need or use, right there on the remote. This remote is backlit and lights up when it feels motion and is very sensitive so you never have to squint to see the buttons. very vibrant. Ive had other media controllers for my xbox and this is by far the best one, and the battery life is excellent. Must Buy! A++

Handy Remote, But Could be Better

I am NOT a gamer by any means. I can barely figure out how to power on the various game systems around our house, let alone figure out the game controllers, so once I got myself to the point I had finally figured out how to use our PS3 for streaming Netflix, and gotten my own handy little remote so I didn't have to work the controller, I was quite content. My teenage son, however, informed me that he wanted his XBox One to sit where the PS3 was sitting in our living room, and that meant I had to learn how to stream Netflix from the XBox One instead. I TRIED to hold my ground and insist on the PS3 because I had my own handy-dandy remote control for it, and the next thing I know, an order arrives from Best Buy. Turns out the teenager (who has a job and earns his own money) has decided he'll eliminate my little remote control excuse by purchasing me a remote for the XBox One. Sigh. SO . . . I've now learned how to use this remote control. And it is indeed a handy little device. I will say, though, that I do find it harder to use than my PS3 remote. First of all, most of the keys are marked, but for things like turning on closed captioning, or other menu options, this remote is not clear at all, and I usually manage to disconnect my system from the TV at least once whilst trying to figure out how to activate the menu. Not the end of the world. I can usually figure out how to get my movie started again. But I think the buttons really could be marked better so that at least the button that disconnects everything has a big old red "X" on it or something! Also, these buttons have a very soft feel. I have to push them very hard before they actually activate anything. Sometimes I just feel like I'm going to break something before whatever button I'm pushing will actually activate. So I'm hoping this doesn't mean I'll have issues with this in a few months, but for now it's working OK. All in all, if I must use the XBox One for streaming, I'd much rather be using this remote control than trying to figure out that game controller, so I'm glad it was an option! I'm sure I'll eventually learn which buttons NOT to push, and hopefully this will serve me well for years to come!

I previously owned and used an Insignia remote for my Xbox One, but it's gotten less reliable over the years. I also own the small, official Xbox One remote, but it's so lacking in features that it's basically useless as a media remote. A friend recommended this remote, and I'm glad he did. The construction, quality, and feel in-hand is every but as good as the official remote, and many times better than the Insignia. I'm certain that this remote will last for years and years. Feature-wise, it's all here. It's even got the A,B,X,Y buttons that both the Insignia and official remotes lacked, and this makes it so much more versatile. My only complaint is that the media functions for play, pause, fwd, rwd, and skip are located way at the top of the remote, in an inconvenient place if you want to use the remote one-handed. You can't adjust the volume and then pause your show without repositioning the remote in your hand, or using your opposite hand to pause. Unless, maybe, you have really, really long thumbs. It's a minor nuisance, but I don't feel that a better design would have swapped the location of the play controls with the location of the menu buttons. Still, great remote nonetheless.
