Customers are saying

Customers love the Talon Media Remote for Xbox One's ease of use, backlight, and overall design. Many appreciate its compatibility with various devices and the comfortable feel and size. While some users noted that the button quality could be improved and the range is limited to line of sight, the positive feedback on ease of use and features outweighs these concerns. The remote's price point is also frequently praised.

This remote is great if you want to watch movies on your Xbox without using your controller, which is awkward to use as a remote. This remote has a nice textured feel to it. It lights up in the dark which is very usefull. The only thing I don't like is the directional pad. You have to press down pretty hard (for the up, down, left, right buttons) to be accurate so you don't hit the middle button on accident. Other than that its a nice remote.

I needed a remote for my Xbox one so that I could use it as well for my Cable box for my cable company and I got this on sale which actually have have been 1/3rd the price of the actual XBOX One remote that Microsoft sells and I must say this thing works great without any issues. Best bang for buck if you need the Xbox One remote and want to save a ton of money.

I purchased this remote to have an alternative way for my wife to turn on and use the XBOX ONE S as she is not too comfortable with using the gaming controller to navigate the video apps. I like the convenience of it as well but it would have been nice for it to have some type of texting function. The remote requires no type of setting up at all. I put the batteries in (included), pointed it at my XBOX and it turned it on. It has a really neat function that backlights the buttons when you pick it up for about 2-3 seconds. I was wondering how that would affect the battery life long term (not that it's a big deal to me since I use rechargeables). Not sure if you can turn it off. All in all. It's a good remote for a good price.

Even though this remote is not made by Microsoft, it’s a better design and I would purchase this over the Microsoft Media Remote without hesitation. It’s a lot friendlier when it comes to controlling your TV and DVR system, as well as controlling other digital media. For the most part, every button that you need if you use your Xbox as the media center hub is there. I recommend.

Can't go wrong with this one. Numbers are on it for precise channel turning. Also, the batteries seems to last longer than those in the Microsoft branded remote.

I’ve been holding out buying one of these remotes for my Xbox, but figured it was time to go ahead and take the plunge. For those that likes to use apps like Netflix, YouTube and other entertainment apps... this remote is a must to have. No longer have to use the controller to navigate my Xbox. This remote is awesome... great in the dark since it lights up. Definitely recommend.

This remote is way easier than using a controller however I noticed after moving my Xbox into my bedroom that it doesn't work like a controller. What I mean by that is that it needs to be pointed at the console or it won't work unlike the controller that will work from wherever even if the console is in a cabinet. So it can get annoying and I find myself using the controller instead a lot.

This is a very nice remote for the Xbox One S. I picked this one over the standard remote that Microsoft sells because I preferred the larger size. I liked how the buttons light up when you move it so you can see them in the dark and I like how you can turn your Xbox on/off with the remote. This remote is better than using the game pad for watching movies and shows because you have to wake up the game pad (if you haven't used it for awhile) to switch shows and stuff. I've seen other reviewers mentioned that controlling the TV volume doesn't work. It is stated on the box that you need to connect an infrared extender to the Xbox in order for this to work. The standard Xbox remote says the same thing. I think this is a Bluetooth remote so the remote would send the Bluetooth signal to the Xbox to raise the volume and (if you have an infrared extender connected to the Xbox), the Xbox would then relay that signal (through infrared) to the TV. I haven't actually tried it but I'm pretty sure that's how it's supposed to work. I dinged the remote 1 star because the directional pad is flat and not raised so it's hard to know where your fingers are on the remote when trying to use the pad to select things. Other than this flaw, it's been perfect for my uses.

I love this remote. I use my Xbox mostly for audio/video streaming (e.g. Netflix, Spotify, RT First, etc...) and using this is much more convenient than using a normal Xbox controller (i.e. it doesn't keep shutting off if you're not using it for a while). It also turns on my TV and controls volume so I also don't have to use the TV remote. Easy to use and a great price.

Before I say anything else I want to say. I waited WAY too long to get a remote for the Xbox One. If you recently got an Xbox One as a gift for someone or for yourself. Buy a remote! especially if you didn't get a play and charge kit, you will be a lot happier overall. It will be worth it later. Quick non-wordy breakdown: Pros: - Easy to use. - Battery saver. - Great for Media (Netflix, blu-ray, youtube, etc..) - Backlit for night time visibility (lights up when moved.) - Comfortable in the hand. - Didn't cost 25 bucks... Cons: - Buttons are very "Firm". - Backlighting only lasts a few seconds - Button arrangement/layout leaves something to be desired. I like the feel of the remote and how brightly it can glow. I also appreciate that it came with a pair of batteries. However, it only stays lit for a few seconds and it dims in like 2-3 seconds leaving you little time to find buttons in the dark if you happen to be looking for a specific button. The top most button "dashboard" button does not light up at all and neither do the A, B, X, and Y buttons. They do have a nice bright paint on them though which is great if you do have light to see them... It's super easy to use. Just point and click once the batteries are in. I like the idea that this remote is an all in one including the normal controller buttons. However, I'd really like it if the 'back' button or the B button were closer to the radial selector. I feel like the Microsoft remote has a better overall layout in this regard. It's a lot more like a normal TV remote in the layout making a bit more intuitive to use. I'd also like to say that the buttons, especially the radial selector are a bit firm. By that I mean the force needed to actually press the button is more than I'd like it to be. Feels like I have to press through the layer of silicone or rubber material in order to press it. In comparison, the Microsoft remote while similar is still much easier to press the buttons on. (Not a huge problem but definitely something I'm not a fan of.) I like how it feels in my hand and the material feels the same overall as the Microsoft Media remote. If I was to break this down into a price basis. You technically get a lot more for the same overall quality and feel as the Microsoft Media remote. However, I do not have my cable hooked up into the Xbox One so I cannot test that portion and I'm not sure how useful the added buttons like the number pad really are. Apparently, I cannot even turn the volume up or down unless this is done. A huge drawback.

This remote is a great option for anyone who uses their XBOX as a home media device. The button placement is simple. It works without any extra installation or set up. It has a neat light effect that is triggered by movement so you can see the keys in the dark. I've been using mine for the last two years and it just simply works.

Works great, 2 reasons why not 5 stars, 1. clip that holds the back battery cover in broke after a couple of months, it still stays on, but tends to slide a little and 2. the volume control must be pressed once per each increment of change, holding it in doesn't work, at least not for my setup through my Marantz receiver. Otherwise it is great, the motion sensitive backlight feature is awesome, a first for me.
