    VERY underrated!

The media remotes that are created for both PS4 and Xbox are very underrated. If you are a true gamer, then you know the struggles of using your controller for gaming and media the battery dying insanely quick. This helps your controller battery last a lot longer so that if you intend on just watching Netflix or Hulu or a film, your gaming controller isn’t sitting there just wasting battery life and you don’t have to charge it all over again. Use it for gaming only and the media remote for anything other then gaming.

I bought a cheaper version of a remote and it worked but was terrible. This one is worth the extra few bucks by far.

Very nice remote. Works well, long battery life, even the menu buttons and sometimes the color buttons work, which doesn't always hold true when using a remote on a console. It does what I need, and I like the rubberized coating. My only wish is that it be a little wider and shorter, but overall it's nice.

I like this remote! It handles most of what I'd like. My only notes are that I don't know what all the numbers are even good for, the pause/play FF/RW buttons don't work on all xbox video apps (I know, not the remote's fault), and it doesn't really control my TV as much as I'd like. It'd be cool if it was also a "universal" type remote, but I have to still rely on my kinect to IR blast power and volume signals to my TV since I have an OG xbox.

Works great and is an awesome alternative from the standard gamepad when watching a movie. All of the buttons one would need are included and easy to use. Appearance-wise, it's very sleek with a nice matte finish so as to not get covered in finger prints. I like that when you tilt the remote, all of the buttons light up so you can see them. This is especially helpful at night or when watching something in a dark room. My only complaint though is with this feature. I wish the duration of time it stays lit up was longer or could be adjusted to stay on longer. It's a very short amount of time and you often end up having to flick the remote a a couple times to light it back up, if you couldn't immediately find the button you were looking for. Again, minor complaint. If that is not an issue for you, then you can make this a 5 star review.

The best Xbox One media remote available

After a lot of research and reading other people's reviews, I decided to go with this one. And I haven't been disappointed by it. First and foremost, it is a vast improvement over having to use the game controller, which times out every 10 minutes which is a real pain if you watch a lot of TV shows on Netflix/Hulu. Also, it is made with quality materials and feels good in the hand. The buttons light up when it detects movement, which is convenient when watching TV in the dark. I also like that there are additional controls (as opposed to other similar remotes) such as a numeric keypad, channel and volume rockers, and A/B/X/Y buttons for easier menu navigation. In conclusion, I would say that, in my opinion, this is the best all-around remote on the market for the Xbox One.

Not fully compatible with all TVs

I’ll start out with the good. This remote looks and feels great. It looks like something Microsoft put out specifically for the Xbox One. The backlit buttons are awesome and the fact that they come on automatically when you pick up the remote is a nice touch. All of the buttons have a nice tactile click and they aren’t mushy. The soft touch coating, while maybe a little slippery, feels really nice. Now for the negative. The main complaint about this remote across the internet has been the volume buttons not working. When I got mine, that was the case. I got it fully set up and paired with my TV/Xbox and everything worked except the volume buttons. I emailed PDP support about it and this was their response: “We regret to inform you that due to compatibility restrictions, the volume commands will not register with certain TV models. We do apologize for any inconvenience.” So, it sounds like this is a known issue but there is no fix and no plan to fix the issue. Unfortunately, there isn’t a list of fully compatible TVs anywhere, so buying this remote is kind of a crap shoot (for reference, I have a 2017 Sony 65” x850e). I’m keeping the remote because I want my family to have a way to control blu-rays and Netflix without having to use a controller, but it’s a bummer we’ll have to rely on a second remote to change the volume #firstworldproblems.

This is a great remote control! It has a premium feel to it and it's very responsive. I would give it five stars except for two things. One, there is no button to go to disc menu. Two, the back is pretty slick so the remote can slip out of your hands. Minor complaints but it does irk me once in a while. This is much better than the official Xbox remote from Microsoft

    Great remote for Xbox

Needed a remote for the Xbox to assist with playing Netflix and other streaming content. We have a cheap-o Blu-Ray player for the TV downstairs that takes forever to load Netflix and the Xbox does it much faster. Navigating through the menus with an Xbox controller can be a little cumbersome for my wife however and wanted to pick this up for her. I thought I would have to sync it to my machine...but basically just pulled it out of the box, popped batteries in, and it worked. A really cool feature is that when you pick the remote up...it instantly turns a backlight on the buttons so you can see them in a dark room. Works great and would definitely recommend.

This is a great remote for the Xbox One S... it has better functionality with the fast forward and rewind as there are 2 sets ... one to go from chapter to chapter and one where you can go frame to frame ... I don't use this remote for volume but I did hear complaints about this but don't let that be the reason you don't choose this one for the Xbox... also I like the backlighting and yes it only last 1-2 seconds but it isnt a big complaint for me. If you need an Xbox One media remote - this is the one to get and it functions fine with the One S also

Good media remote For Xbox One

I prefer this media remote for Xbox over the smaller one; also, it has a lot of good things I like about it and only a few I do not. There are many positives things about this media remote that made me happy with the purchase. I really like the backlit buttons are really nice for watching movies in the dark. This media remote also works with Comcast X1 when you hook it up to the Xbox. The battery life has been surprisingly well for the amount I use it. Furthermore, the few negatives with this media remote are not deal brakes for me. The volume up or down does not work all of the time due to the IR. I wish it would have had rechargeable batteries in place of the AAAs. Overall, I would strongly suggest picking one up if you like to use your Xbox for movies or T.V. I am very happy with mine..

Nice remote with good finishing and back light on the buttons so you can see them on the dark. Works perfectly with my Xbox One S when using the Bluray app. Not using for anything else yet. I will try using it with the Kodi (former XBMC) that is coming to the Xbox One now... This remote is much better than the simple Microsoft one.

This is the perfect remote for you if you use the console as a media center. The controller eats batteries but this remote is powered by 2 AAA batteries and is very comfortable. I have two Xbox ones (one regular and one S) and I can walk towards the other one in another room and control that one with the remote with no pairing. The first one required no pairing as well. I'm not sure of the range of it or if it can control 2 consoles with the same button press, but mine are about 30 ft apart and I guess it's because it uses IR infrared signals. The Xbox one S has an IR receiver on the front. I guess my regular Xbox one has one as well as it works fine even with no Kinect.

Best remote I've had for my console. Like some of the others, I Initially had the same trouble with the volume and reached out to PDP. I Followed this link sent by them to me, https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/xbox-one-media-remote-info. Once my TV "found" the right code, the volume issue was sorted and it's been smooth sailing ever since.

this remote is awesome! no setup needed, just add the batteries and it syncs right up to your XBOX. I have a One S and am able to use it to browse and play my media through Emby (media center) flawlessly. This is a must-have in comparison to using standard game controller.

Got this remote to make it easier to do video conferencing with Skype with our daughter in college. Works great to help us manuver around the Xbox screens without having to use a controller. Works well for watching videos and using other apps as well.
