It holds on anything! Even bulky straps too. It has a grip design in the metal plate.

Yes, it clamps down tight. It wont move as long as it’s screwed down tight enough.

So long as the straps aren't excessively wide or bulky, this should be able to get a good clamp on it. The tighter you tighten the screws, the better the hold.
